What Engage PEO might cost

Engage publishes no fee. For scale, ADP's PEO cost guide (updated July 14, 2026) puts industry admin fees at 2% to 12% of total payroll or about $40 to $160 per employee per month, and Justworks posts its PEO at $79 or $124 per employee per month (both checked October 16, 2026). For 10 employees, the industry range works out to 10 x $40 = $400 to 10 x $160 = $1,600 a month before premiums, workers' comp and payroll taxes. That is not an Engage quote. See PEO cost per employee for every line on a PEO invoice, and 2026 SUTA rates for the state tax line.

Questions to ask Engage PEO before you sign

  1. Ask for the admin fee in dollars per employee per month, and whether it is a flat fee or a percent of payroll.
  2. Ask for workers' comp as a separate rate per $100 of payroll for each job class.
  3. Ask which Aetna, Kaiser, BCBS and MetLife plans are open in each of your states, and for two years of renewal history.
  4. Ask for the client service agreement and read the term, notice period and any early termination or transition fee.
  5. Confirm the contract names Engage PEO, LLC, the entity on the IRS CPEO list, with its EIN.
  6. Ask who issues W-2s for the year you leave and how long you keep access to payroll records.

  • TriNet: quote only, large-group benefits, published support hours.
  • Insperity: fixed per-employee HR fee that does not rise with wages.
  • ADP TotalSource: workers' comp included in the service fee.
  • Paychex PEO: assigned HR contact from the first employee.

All five are on the IRS active CPEO list too; see the full certified PEO list, the PEO rankings and the PEO hub.
