About HRPricing

HRPricing is an independent comparison site for the cost of payroll software, PEOs and employer of record (EOR) services, written for US small and mid-size businesses. We put dated prices, contract terms, official tax data and documented complaints side by side so you can see what a provider will cost before you talk to its sales team.

What we do

We read what providers publish and what government agencies publish, then turn it into numbers you can compare:

  • Published prices from each provider's own pricing page, with the date we checked them and the cost for a real team size.
  • Contract terms: minimum terms, setup fees, deposits, cancellation rules and what records you keep after you leave.
  • Official tax and labor data: state unemployment (SUTA) wage bases and rates, minimum wages, and employer contributions by country, each linked to the agency that publishes it.
  • Documented complaint patterns from public review sites, with a link to each source.

That work feeds the payroll section, the PEO section, the employer of record section, the SUTA rates table for all 50 states and the employer cost index by country.

What we do not do

  • We do not test products hands-on. We do not open accounts, run payroll or hire through these providers. Everything we score is something you can check yourself.
  • We are not a payroll provider, PEO or EOR. We do not employ your workers, run your payroll or sell you a plan. Buttons on our pages send you to the provider.
  • We are not a tax adviser, accounting firm or law firm. Our pages are general information. We do not answer individual tax questions or prepare filings. See our disclaimer.
  • We do not publish user reviews or testimonials. When we mention a rating from a review site, we give the count, the date and a link.

How we make money

Some providers pay us a commission when you sign up or book a sales call through a link on our site. Commissions never change a score or the order of a list, and providers that pay us nothing are scored with the same rules. No provider can pay for a placement.

Our affiliate disclosure explains which links can earn money and how to spot them. Our scoring method lists every criterion and its points.

How we keep the data current

  • Every price, rate and figure on the site shows the date we checked it.
  • State payroll tax data is refreshed each January, when most states publish new wage bases and rates, and again when a rule changes during the year.
  • Country employer contribution data is refreshed each January and when a country changes its rules.
  • Provider prices and the IRS list of certified PEOs are checked every quarter. The IRS updates its CPEO list quarterly.

A page's checked date changes only when we recheck its figures. Our editorial policy covers sourcing, corrections and how we use AI tools.
