Paycor pricing and review: what you can and cannot find out before a demo
We may earn a commission when you sign up through some links on this page. Commissions never change our scores or the order of our lists. How we make money.
Paycor does not publish prices: its pricing page shows only "Get 50% off for the first 6 months" with no base price, plus a sales line (checked October 16, 2026). Fit Small Business (updated May 29, 2026) says Paycor formerly listed "starting at $99 plus $5 per employee monthly," which would be $149 a month for 10 employees, but that price is no longer posted.
Paycor's payroll system also publishes no tax guarantee, contract, implementation or cancellation terms. Below are the reference points that do exist, the math for 5, 10 and 25 employees, and the questions that turn a demo into a comparable quote.
Paycor is a US HR and payroll software company that sells payroll, HR, time tracking, recruiting and benefits administration as a suite, priced by custom quote.

Paycor sells payroll, HR, time tracking, recruiting and benefits administration as one suite, priced by a sales rep after a demo. It says it serves "2.3 million users across all 50 states." Paycor once posted a starting price; today it posts only a discount. Because we score what a buyer can check, Paycor ranks last of 15 in our payroll scores, which says more about what it publishes than about how its software works. See how we score; we did not test Paycor.
What Paycor's pricing page says
When our research read paycor.com/pricing on October 16, 2026, it showed:
- No prices for any plan.
- A promo: "Get 50% off for the first 6 months." The page does not say what the 50% applies to.
- A sales line, 513-338-0399, and a pricing request form.
Fit Small Business (updated May 29, 2026) says Paycor used to publish "starting at $99 plus $5 per employee monthly" and is now custom-priced. That figure is historical and may not match a quote today.
There is one published price for payroll that runs on Paycor, sold by a different company. Deputy, the scheduling app, sells Deputy Payroll (by Paycor) at $49 a month plus $8 per user, but only with an annual Deputy Core or Pro plan (Deputy pricing, checked October 16, 2026).
What Paycor might cost for 5, 10 and 25 employees
Neither row below is a Paycor quote. The first uses the old list price Fit Small Business reports; the second uses Deputy's published price for its Paycor-powered payroll.
| Reference | 5 employees | 10 employees | 25 employees |
|---|---|---|---|
| Old Paycor list price, $99 + $5 per employee (historical) | $99 + (5 × $5) = $124 | $99 + (10 × $5) = $149 | $99 + (25 × $5) = $224 |
| Deputy Payroll (by Paycor), $49 + $8 per user | $49 + (5 × $8) = $89 | $49 + (10 × $8) = $129 | $49 + (25 × $8) = $249 |
| Deputy Payroll + Deputy Core at $6.50 per user (list, before the 10% annual discount) | $89 + $32.50 = $121.50 | $129 + $65 = $194 | $249 + $162.50 = $411.50 |
Sources: Fit Small Business Paycor review, updated May 29, 2026 (historical price, not current); Deputy pricing page, checked Oct 16, 2026. Our arithmetic. Payroll taxes not included.
Deputy counts admins and managers as users, so the user count can exceed your employee count. Deputy's annual plans are paid upfront, with no refund if you cancel early and no downgrades or headcount reductions during the term; we did not check Deputy Payroll's own terms. Before you take the 50% off offer
A discount with no base price cannot be compared. Ask the rep to put these in the order form:
- The full monthly list price, base plus per-employee, that the 50% comes off.
- Which modules the discount covers (payroll only, or HR, time and benefits too) and whether implementation is included.
- The price in month 7, and any cap on increases at renewal.
- The contract term, and whether leaving early means repaying the discount.
- Per-form year-end fees, off-cycle run fees and amendment fees.
Then put the month-7 price next to published options. At 10 employees, OnPay is $109 a month and Gusto Plus is $80 + (10 × $12) = $200, both checked October 16, 2026 (OnPay review, Gusto pricing).
Tax filing: no published guarantee
On the pages we checked, Paycor publishes no tax filing guarantee terms and no statement of which states or local taxes it files, or whether it registers new state accounts for you. You cannot tell from Paycor's site who pays a penalty if a deposit is late.
Ask for the tax service terms in writing: whether Paycor pays penalties and interest from its errors, the deadline for forwarding a notice, any cap, and what happens if a payroll is not funded on time. Tax errors with penalties left to the customer are among the most common payroll complaints we found across providers.
Implementation, contract and leaving Paycor
None of these are published: contract length, implementation fees, renewal terms, how to cancel, or how long you keep access to W-2s and payroll reports afterward. Our research found no Paycor cancellation policy on its site.
- Implementation: Paycor's suite is sold with implementation help, but no fee is stated. Ask for it as a line item.
- Leaving: get the notice period, any early termination fee and a fixed period of record access written into the agreement.
- Mid-year switch: agree who files the current quarter's Form 941 and state wage reports and who issues the year's W-2s (2026 forms are due February 1, 2027). Give the next provider exact year-to-date totals so Social Security stops at the 2026 wage base of $184,500.
For pay dates by frequency, see 2026 pay schedules and pay dates.
Paycor support
Paycor lists phone lines and a Contact Support page. It does not publish support hours on the pages in our research. Ask whether you get a named contact after implementation, and what hours apply on a payroll deadline.
Paycor reviews
Paycor has 4.0 out of 5 from 2,018 reviews on G2 and 1.6 out of 5 from 166 reviews on Trustpilot (both seen October 16, 2026). That 2.4-point split is one of several large G2 and Trustpilot gaps in our research; ADP RUN (4.7 vs 1.2), Paylocity (4.4 vs 1.3) and Gusto (4.6 vs 1.9) show the same pattern.
We have not yet read individual Paycor reviews to document recurring complaints, so we describe no pattern. A 1.6 Trustpilot score from 166 reviews is a signal to ask for references from clients your size before signing.
How we score Paycor
Paycor scores 10 out of 100 in payroll, last of the 15 providers we score. It ties isolved on points and ranks behind it on our complaint tiebreak. In our HR software scores it gets 23 out of 100, tied with Paylocity, because payroll is built into the suite and its HR, time and recruiting modules are listed.
